Worn at the chest
Join the halves and hang them on a strap. You can type standing up or walking about, with no desk under your hands.
A split mechanical keyboard with a thumbstick on each half. The halves sit apart on a desk, or join into one and hang at your chest on a strap. The cursor and the scrolling are under your thumbs, so there is no mouse to reach for.
Many split keyboards drop to 36 or 42 keys, and numbers and brackets move onto layers you have to learn.
Keythra keeps all 65 keys of a MacBook keyboard in the same places, so the shortcuts and the number row your fingers know are still where they were.
On a MacBook your left thumb rests on Command and Option. Keythra puts both in the left thumb keys and the bottom row, so ⌘Tab, ⌘Space and ⌘C / ⌘V work as they always have.
Up and down are the same on both sticks; left and right are mirrored. Tilt both at once to open the task view, the app drawer, the desktop or search, with no shortcut to remember.
Interactive dual-stick keyboard simulator. Focus this area to use its keyboard controls.
A flat keyboard keeps you leaning over a desk. Keythra goes where you are: worn at the chest, resting on the armrests, or on the desk with each half tilted.
Join the halves and hang them on a strap. You can type standing up or walking about, with no desk under your hands.
Rest one half on each armrest and lean back. Typing, scrolling and moving the pointer go on as usual, without sitting up to a desk.
Each half has a fixed tilt, 8° forward and 20° to the side, so your hands rest closer to the way they hang when relaxed.
Two analog thumbsticks, standard hot-swap switch sockets, and a shell shaped around the fixed tilt.
The halves are shaped from physical prototypes, and line up edge to edge when joined into one.
The further you tilt a stick, the faster the pointer moves or the page scrolls. Tilt both together for the gestures.
Change switches without soldering. The sockets take standard full-height MX switches with 3 or 5 pins.
The design as it stands for Batch 01.
Batch 01 has a limited number of places. Earlier reservations ship first, and each keyboard carries its own engraved serial number.
